2017 Meeting Details Announced
Our annual meeting will take place November 16th-17th, 2017.
We are pleased to announce a new venue this year: the Rizzo Hotel and Conference Center conveniently located in Chapel Hill near the intersection of Highway 54 and Interstate 40.
We are very excited to have Dr. William Proffit as our keynote speaker. Dr. Proffit will be moderating the program “Orthodontics 2017: An Update from UNC”.
2014 Meeting Details Announced
Our 2014 meeting will be held Nov 20-21 with Dr. Hugo De Clerck speaking on multiple topics including Non-compliance upper molar distalization. Click here for more details about the meeting.
Hugo De Clerck is a graduate of the Rijksuniversiteit Gent’s orthodontic program, he received his PhD in 1986 and he maintains a private practice in Brussels. He has been Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Orthodontics at the Université Catholique de Louvain from 1989 to 2006. Currently he is Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a former President of the Belgian Orthodontic Society and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. His main research interests are in skeletal anchorage, biomechanics and orthopedics. He lectured extensively on these topics throughout the world.

Speaker for 2013 Meeting Announced
Our 2013 annual meeting will be held November 21-22 with speaker William V. Gierie, DDS, MS. Dr. Gierie’s topic will be “Achieving Success with Clear Aligner Therapy.” See the Meetings page for more information.
Dr. Gierie earned his DDS and MS in Orthodontics at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has been part of the Align Technology Speaker’s Bureau for the last 9 years and has lectured across North American and Europe on Invisalign techniques. Dr. Gierie is a part-time faculty member in the UNC Department of Orthodontics with emphasis on Invisalign and diode lasers. Dr. Gierie is the newest member of Align Technology’s Clinical Advisory Board, an 8 member panel of orthodontists who provide feedback and ideas on product development. He maintains a solo private practice in Wilmington, NC.

The online registration for for the 2012 annual meeting for the University of North Carolina Orthodontic Alumni Association is now available for you.
This years meeting features speakers Harald O. Heymann, DDS, MEd and Gavin C. Heymann, DDS, MS. They will present “Conservative Esthetic Dentistry: An Update for the Orthodontist.”

Meeting Registration is Online
We now have the ability to register and pay for our annual meeting attendance online through our UNC Orthodontic Alumni Association website. Just go to www.uncoaa.com/meetings/ for information and the registration button. You pay online via your credit or debit card through PayPal. You can include all information and payments for yourself and your guests, as well as pay your annual dues with the registration. If you are not attending the meeting, you can still pay your dues by going to the www.uncoaa.com home page and clicking the Pay Dues Online button.
New Website
The University of North Carolina Orthodontic Alumni Association has a new website (www.uncoaa.com). This site will allow graduates to register for annual meetings, see news and event information, view graduate bios, donate to the UNCOAA scholarship fund and view photos related to the UNCOAA.
